Abstract Creations
"Gift of the Parting"
This was alot of fun to make, I made a dodecahedron not realizing there was a preset for it, then used each vert as a point to snap to and drew out 5 icosahedrons (3 sided pyramids) evenly connecting all the points. I then extruded the faces all in until they just barely didn't overlap and deleted the inner faces. I then extruded everything to give it all a little depth and thickness and also moved all the verts a bit randomly and threw some lights in. Renders were 7 min a frame with 3 area lights and a point inside.
An abstract piece created by tracing and profiling the path of a particle following a specific function based expression.
This was created with Apophysis(2d and 3d recursive fractal flame rendering software) It's alot of fun to use and fractal flames have a few uses as far as abstract motion graphics go. Of course they make great desktop backgrounds too.
This was created with ChaosScope(3d Strange attractor rendering software) It's alot of fun to use and strange attrators like fractals, represent math and nature at it's very core. These also have a few uses as far as abstract motion graphics go as well.
Environment
WIP Shot 01 - Nettleham Hall was an impressive estate in the UK until around one hundred years ago, when it burned down in a tragic accident. Ever since, nature has done its best to remodel the place. This is another asset for my demo reel and it's still very much a work in progress.

WIP shot 01 - Ginzan Onsen is a picturesque hot springs getaway in Japan. It often snows in the winter, and the atmosphere at night is amazing. There are two aspects of this environment I hope to capture as I finish this piece for my demo reel: The rustic feel and the nighttime environment.

This image is a scene of a shack, thrown together by a homeless person from an old dumpster. However this particular homeless individual is very resourceful, notice where he's getting his electricity from...
This image was an art test I had to complete to move on into my final demo reel creation class. The image at left was the only image I had to go off of. I used a combination of projection maps mixed with hand painted areas. Bump, diffuse, and Displacement, with Ambient Occlusion.
A Dinka village in sudan. All visual elements created by me except the folding chair, which was created by Vincent M. Donatelli
Same scene as above, but different shot. The mud shack walls are fully textured using maya's built in procedurals.
Somalian marketplace scene.
With the exception of the vehicles, and some of the tents, all visual elements were created by me.
The inside of this shop was created by Jon Malloy, all other visual elements were created by me.

Tents were created by me and Ty Butler. Actors and actresses were filmed on blue screen. All other elements created by me.
Tents by Ty Butler and myself. All other visual elemtents created by me.
