Led and Lighting

Through my ever deepening plunge into the technical rabbit hole I eventually discovered Arduino micro controllers. The simplicity of the code plus the plethora of hands on applications has led me to try my hand at a few projects with many more in the works for both hobby and business alike.  Take me there!

3D Art

You can find pieces ranging from my original calling of environment art, to other areas such as film, compositing work, and prop art. The two titles I had the pleasure of working on most recently were: Microsoft’s Adera, and Disney’s Fairies. These were projects I was a part of while at Hitpoint Studios. Take me there!

Abstract Art

My passion for abstract art is largely inspired by Electronica and mathematics. A seemingly unlikely pair, but one that I have been giving more and more attention to as time goes on. The possibilities are endless. Take me there!

Code Work

I started off on a heavy art / lean code diet for most of my education. It wasn’t until I met maya’s Hypershade that I started to dig deeper into the technical. Shading networks led to scripts, scripts led to full fledged tools, tool writing in turn led me outside of maya and python all together eventually. Here you can take a look at some of my finished products, some of which are available on the Creative Crash marketplace. Take me there!

I’ve always had a passion for taking things apart as well as putting them together. With the virtually limitless possibilities of digital art I brought that passion with me to 3d and specialized intensely in non real-time / film and game environment art.

Secondary to that, I developed a workflow for dealing with very heavy geometry and foliage as well as physically accurate shading and lighting. I believe these are two very integral parts in creating mood and thought evoking visuals and environments.

Lastly, one of the biggest time savers in 3d is knowing when NOT to 3d. Compositing and post work can save countless hours if used correctly now and in the future. I developed my compositing skillset around the 80/20 rule and it has sped up my workflow considerably.
